Determining factors of elected women leaders: An empirical study of Mahabubnagar district, Telangana state

Abstract: The researcher
demonstrated how female leadership affects women and their career goals in
politics. For the purpose of research, the data from the women participants was
personally gathered by visiting the villages in the Mahabubnagar district. The
data was then analyzed, and the findings were tallied. It is found that
majority of the ST respondents (75.0%) and 40% of the women leaders of all
categories are motivated are influenced by their family members. Two third
(66.7%) of the respondents from OC, OBC and SC reservation factor in contesting
the PRI elections and fifty per cent of the ST respondents also shown one of
the factor to contest in the elections. The study also shows that majority of
OBCs (62.5%), STs (50.0%), OCs (38.9%), and SCs (33.3%) success factor is
mainly the family support followed by the community/villagers support. It is
concluded that the major success factor for the women leaders is the family
support followed by the community/villagers support.
