Abstract: The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 places strong emphasis on the integration of technology into teaching, learning, and educational administration to transform the Indian education system. Recognizing the role of digital platforms in expanding access, improving quality, and enhancing inclusivity, NEP 2020 advocates for the use of digital tools in classrooms, online learning platforms, and blended modes of teaching. The policy envisions the creation of a National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) to promote research, development, and innovation in digital education. This paper explores the significance of technology in achieving the goals of NEP 2020, including personalized learning, teacher empowerment, and bridging the rural-urban digital divide. The study highlights both opportunities—such as flexibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness—and challenges, including infrastructure gaps, digital literacy, and accessibility for disadvantaged groups. It concludes that while technology is a powerful enabler, its successful implementation requires adequate infrastructure, teacher training, and inclusive policies to ensure equity. Thus, the role of technology in NEP 2020 is not merely supportive but transformative, aiming to redefine the future of education in India.
