Abstract: When we talk about social Movements in India one comes across various types of movements including subjects like environment, tribal, gender and so on. This article sheds light on how caste system has been a prevelant practice and India and the role of B.R Ambedkar in arousing the consciousness among the depressed and oppressed sections and how that knowledge about the evil practices of discrimination transformed itself into the caste movements and presents before the readers the present Indian Scenario about caste.
